Healthy Grocery Cart

Hey everyone!

I hope you are well and making good choices in your quest for a healthier lifestyle!  Remember, we eat to live, not live to eat, or something like that. Hmm, I kinda like food a lot, so Iiving to eat doesn’t sound entirely wrong to me either.  C’est le vie!

But, we are trying to generally make better dietary choices, more often.  So that starts with the weekly trip to the grocery store.

Now you have  all heard it before I’m sure.  You know it’s better to work your way around the perimeter of the grocery store. Going up and down the each and every aisle is just asking for trouble.  All the sugary, processed food lurks on every shelf, in every nook and cranny there.  Stay away!  Go in there on a mission and chant to yourself, protein and produce, protein and produce.

If you are doing the right thing, you should not spend any appreciable time in the interior aisles of the store.  You should only be there for a hot minute. What’s there, maybe some brown rice, oatmeal, tuna?

I promise that you will be much more successful on your journey to shed body fat if you remain focused while grocery shopping.

Okay, so, what did we get this week?  I had a tough time taking pictures as someone was putting the food away faster than I could snap pictures. Hmmmm.

It probably looks similar to last week because it is! We are still finding a groove so to speak. Hopefully we will branch out.  But we all tend to buy the things we enjoy over and over again. What, you don’t buy french fries every week? So why not buy sweet potatoes or chicken breast every week?

Also, it’s good to think seasonally as that’s when you will notice the vegetables and fruit of the season.. You’ll get the best prices and enjoy all that Mother Nature has to offer in its glory! Nature’s bounty!

Okay, so how did you do this week? Please do share what was in your grocery cart! Were there some new, healthier selections this week?

All the best,

Barbara
