Hey everyone. I’m still working trying to get things better organized here. Please bear with me while I go through some growing pains with this site. It continues to be a work in progress. But in the meantime, I want to get it live to you guys as soon as reasonable so you can hear about what I am doing now. Joe and I are continuing on our healthful quest!
Okay, so here’s a very simple and quick meal. It’s a good example of a light and healthy dinner.
Salmon Squash Boat
Cut the spaghetti squash in half, sprinkle each half with salt, pepper and olive oil and then roast for about 45 minutes in a 375 degree oven. I forgot to take pics. Bear with me. Baby steps y’all! Google it and you will see how to cook the squash. Prepare the salmon.while the squash is roasting.
For the salmon I used:
- canned pink salmon
- tomatoes
- onion
- carrots
- cabbage (I am starting to put cabbage in everything. It adds a subtle sweetness and delicate crunch to everything)
- Ground Black pepper
- Himalayan Pink Salt
- fish seasoning
- hint of raw honey
- Natural, sun dried tomatoes (I was out of these but this would have clinched it for me!)
- Dash of your favorite hot pepper sauce (no sugars)
- Peppers (unfortunately everyone in my household cannot consume them)
I just threw the veggies in the food processor, cooked them down a pinch in some olive oil and then added the salmon. Let it simmer and season to taste. Ground pepper is nice on top. I was too lazy to garnish. Sometimes that happens on a “school night” folks!
So there you have it. A simple, quick and easy healthy meal. It’s great that it’s low carb as well. Hey, I just remembered, I will soon be introducing something I call RAW!
What is RAW? Well I am hoping you can help me define it but in the future, I will mark tips, tricks, things that I have learned along the way that I find helpful and that work for me when I am trying to lose weight and get lean. They may sometimes be controversial, and some may even call me a hack, hah! but like I said, they work for me. Your mileage may vary. But I doubt it!
Anyway, I am trying to name it and claim it.
RAW – Really Actually Works
RAW – Real World Awesome Advice (so I took liberties, so sue me)
You get the idea. Like I said, there is a ton of information in the brain that i can share. I will just recall things along the way depending on the conversation. So, when you see the RAW (which I hope will one day soon have it’s own cute symbol/logo), know that it’s time to pay particular attention and see if you can apply it to your personal situation.
So without further ado, here is the very first RAW!!!
RAW – If you weight has plateaued or you are otherwise struggling to drop weight, eating fish can help. It’s a good choice for dinner as it is fairly light so you won’t go to bed on anything heavy. Also, eating fish daily is a great way to lean up and drop weight quickly, in a pinch of course. I truly don’t like nor recommend one dimensional diets, but i know sometimes we need a little secret weapon to tighten things up quickly. Like when a “dear friend” sends one those last minute invitations to an important function knowing full well you are not at the top of your game. Gotta love them!
Okay, so i went further than intended today. Hopefully some of it is helpful. Truth be told, posting the picture was giving me fits and so I just kept typing!
Best always,
MMM
